Paddy Beattie WO2 (SSM) 9 Para Sqn Selected to be WO1 (RSM) 23 Engr Regt (Air Assault)
A quick note to let you all know that the current Squadron Sergeant Major, WO2 Paddy Beattie, has been selected as RSM 23 Engineer Regiment (Air Assault). He takes over in summer 2010.
He is absolutely delighted, as is the rest of the Squadron, and will be the first ever RSM to have come straight from SSM 9 Para Sqn. I'll accept that it is only fitting that he earned his proper airborne spurs with us first having spent most of his career dancing jigs with the Marines.
