299 Association was formed to provide contact between old and new comrades in arms who have achieved Airborne or Commando status within 299 Troop RE.
The Association's aims are to promote and encourage social events for its members and where possible relieve any hardship or distress suffered by them or their dependants. The Association is also dedicated to promoting and maintaining contact with other Airborne and Commando Associations and Troops currently within 131 Independent Commando Squadron RE and 299 Parachute Squadron RE

This site is run by Hank Lawrence for the purpose of reuniting old comrades that he served with over my twelve years in the army from 1958 aged 15 to 1969 aged 27.

10 Para Home Service Force
 
Formed in 1982 by the Thatcher government, the Home Service Force (HSF) was intended purely as a Home Defence unit to be used to guard key points throughout the UK against sabotage, which it was thought might come from the Spetnnez (Russian Special Forces).
These ex-service personnel brought with them a broad and varied military experience, including service in most of the trouble spots around the world since the Korean war. The HSF developed into a unique unit that became the subject of the expected micky taking, that inevitable ended up with the question "Who the hell are you lot?"

UK Armed Forces Veterans Lapel Badge

Service before and during World War 2
Men and Women who served in HM Armed Forces before and/or during World War 2 are entitled to a Veterans Badge

Service after World War 2
Men and Women who enlisted in HM Armed Forces between 3rd September 1945 and 31st December 1994 are entitled to a Veterans Badge. There is no qualifying length of service

Posthumous requests
It is regrettable that the badge cannot be issued posthumously. The badge is a survivors badge, which is to be worn on civilian attire. The only exceptions are War Widows and Widowers who are in receipt of a War Widows/Widowers Pension paid by the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency
