Roll of Honour

William Graham Livingstone TD

Bill passed away on 9th March 2012

Bill Livingstone was born in Falkirk on 14 December 1944. He studied Civil Engineering at Heriot-Watt College in Edinburgh. Keen to see a bit of action he joined the OTC and was commissioned into 131 Para Engr Regt in 1963, serving with 300 Sqn's 3 Tp in Glasgow. His enthusiasm for everything was welcomed.

Posted to 432 (City of Edinburgh) Engr Regt RE (TA) shortly before it became 71 Engr Regt in 1966, Bill impressed his new unit with his reliable, resourceful and knowledgeable qualities; in short, he took his airborne initiative with him. He rose to the rank of Captain and served as 2 i/c 104 Field Sqn. He worked professionally as a quantity surveyor, both in the private and public sectors, but sadly developed Huntingdon's disease twelve years ago.

Bill married Jean on 15 May 1970. He lost his battle this year and their three daughters, at his funeral in Edinburgh on 19 March, spoke warmly of their father's unfailing ability to always be there for them. Our thoughts remain with them all at this difficult time.
